4 Ups And 3 Downs From WWE NXT (Oct 21)

4. Re-Ember Me?

32 seconds.

That's how long it took from the time the bell rang, for returning megastar, unstoppable new force in the division, star of Monday Night Raw and former NXT Women's Champion Ember Moon to start selling for Jessi Kamea. Who, and no disrespect here, has been on the show a grand total of 5 times in her entire career.

It would be easy to lay into the match for the same reasons Toni Storm's return fell so flat last week. Specifically that there feels like little-to-no logic in how they want the character to be received and, even if there was, they just got beaten up for a few minutes before grabbing a win. But what salvages Moon here is the post-match confrontation with Dakota Kai.

Big new stars in a division should lead to big new matchups, but having them walk straight back into a title picture does a disservice to how well it's been booked prior to this. Moon vs Kai is a great feud, and as a means to that end this Kamea match did its job.
