4 Ups And 3 Downs From WWE NXT (Oct 21)

1. Pat On The Back

McAfee Lorcan Burch

The better the tag-team matches in NXT are, the more bittersweet the state of the division feels. Breezango vs Burch and Lorcan wasn't quite something that (finish aside) felt like a main-event prospect, but it was more than enough to justify taking this match format seriously each and every week.

The mystery leading into the match was that some Unnamed Assailant had taken out both members of the Undisputed Era during the show. Not cleared for competition and, understandably, not wanting to go it alone anyway, Kyle O'Reilly offered the match to a reluctant Lorcan and Burch. WHO COULD POSSIBLY BE BEHIND THIS!?

Well, after a solid 15 minutes of incredibly slick, hard-hitting tag-team wrestling, it turned out to be... Pat McAfee. Somehow, despite his match with Cole only being 2 months ago, he wasn't even on the radar as the possible brains behind the Undisputed Injuries.

The genius part of this though is what it does for Strong, or Fish, or O'Reilly, or even Cole, but what it does for Lorcan and Burch. The pair are incredible in the ring but awkward on the mic, so adding McAfee to the group, a man who blew everyone away with his delivery in August, makes this a fascinating proposition. Find another member for the group, and all of a sudden the word WarGames begins ringing in the ears.
