4 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE Smackdown (Apr 30)

3. Luke Harper Is Too Good To Be Losing So Much

Luke Harper is a very good in-ring performer capable of having very good matches with any wrestler no matter if they are a smaller guy like Daniel Bryan or even the Smackdown match he lost to Ryback. He's about 6'6" and 280 pounds, so he's got the type of size that WWE loves in their wrestlers, but his look is likely going to prevent him from ever getting a serious push. If you only look at his in-ring work it's clear he's got all the tools and it's obvious why WWE values him so much. He can be put out there to have a good match with anybody at any time. If they need a face to look strong, Harper will put that guy over. The problem is that Harper loses so much that fans think of him as a loser and once a guy gets pegged as a loser it's a tough spot to get out of. What WWE has to think about with him (along with former ally Erick Rowan) is a return to the Wyatt Family with Bray Wyatt as their leader. During the match on Smackdown, Wyatt attacked Ryback after he beat Harper. If it happened before the finish they could have teased the idea that maybe Wyatt was there to save Harper.
