4 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (June 18)

3. Neville's Win Over Xavier Woods Felt Rushed Due To Outside Factors

A matchup between Neville and Xavier Woods sounds like a great idea on paper, but in execution it felt so rushed that it was hard to absorb everything that was happening. Xavier Woods had The New Day with him, Neville had support from the Prime Time Players. There was only about two minutes of action in the match before others got involved outside the ring. There's no wrestler alive that can really get over as a big deal when they are only given a couple of minutes to have a match. When things broke down in the match, the four guys outside the ring started attacking eachother, which led to Neville hitting a kick on Woods and then the Red Arrow on Woods for the victory. They were trying to tell the story that Neville had help to prevent the cheating while The New Day had a bad week. However, what it really felt like was just a match to put on television to fill three minutes because they had nothing else to do. If it's going to be that short it's better to just leave it off the show because it's hard to generate any emotions when the match ends so abruptly.
