4 Ups And 4 Downs From WWE NXT DEADL1NE

3. The Right Call

WWE NXT Deadline Cora Jade Roxanne Perez

Really, it’s surprising that WWE has waited this long to potentially pull the trigger on Roxanne Perez.

The prodigy has been on the cusp of breaking through a couple times since debuting in NXT, but they’ve managed to pump the brakes on her so far. Saturday’s win in the inaugural Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge match – after entering at #1 – seems like a reignition of that rocket push they clearly want to give Perez.

Honestly, Roxanne has all the natural gifts to excel as a pure babyface champion, and she pulled through at DEADL1NE, overcoming an early deficit, taking the lead late and playing defense enroute to winning a shot at Mandy Rose’s NXT Women’s Championship.

Saturday’s win hopefully is the start of this push to the top, and not a stutter-step. Perez has proven she’s capable beyond her years, so why not go all-in?
