4 Ups And 4 Downs From WWE NXT DEADL1NE

2. And New!

WWE NXT Deadline New Day

The idea of a well-established main roster tag team coming down to NXT and capturing the tag titles might be divisive, but there is a rationale behind it.

While New Day came late to the party and there was zero build-up to their NXT Tag Team Championship win at DEADL1NE, the notion that one of the most decorated tag teams in WWE history wanted to become triple crown tag champs lends value and credibility to the developmental tag titles – if NXT doesn’t screw it up.

New Day could bring more eyes to NXT even in the short term, especially if they show up on SmackDown with the tag titles and encourage people to tune in on Tuesdays to see them defend the championship.

Pretty Deadly also looked right at home battling the accomplished duo, not at all looking overmatched or out of place, which bodes well for their future as a WWE tag team. There’s always a good chance they get their titles back sooner rather than later, which would make for a big milestone in their careers.

And for the record, if you didn’t laugh at the four-way Eddie Guerrero tribute with the title belt, you just aren’t a wrestling fan.
