4 Ups And 4 Downs From WWE NXT DEADL1NE

1. Waller The Opportunist

Contrary to the women’s Iron Survivor Challenge, the men’s match had a really nice couple threads running through it, most notably Grayson Waller playing his character perfectly.

Waller has always been something of an opportunist, so it was only natural that he won the match by scoring three pinfalls in extremely fortunate methods. He entered the match with the other three participants down and rushed in with a rolling double stunner, pinning both Axiom and JD McDonagh to put him up with two falls.

Late in the match, with four men tied with two falls apiece, Waller picked his spot, yanking Carmelo Hayes out of the ring after he had knocked Axiom out, stealing the pin and getting the decisive third pin. Grayson then played defense by racing around ringside, evading everyone until the clock ran out.

It was exactly the kind of performance you’d expect from Waller, and it gives him something to crow about for weeks on TV, which will be both unbearable and glorious.
