4 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE NXT 2.0 (Nov 30)

1. Johnny Wrestling Passes The Torch... And Advantage

If last night just so happens to be the last time we see Johnny Gargano scrapping on weekly NXT television, then what a way to go out.

After the people had their say and drafted in both The Way's leader and Bron Breakker into the WarGames Advantage Ladder match, you had a feeling something special could be on the vibrant horizon. And both men did not disappoint. Gargano's ability to wiggle and slip out of many a precarious situation, nailing the Steiner lad with slick DDT counters aplenty, was only bettered by Breakker's one-man-mission to leave the entire crowd wondering just how far he'd go inside of a steel structure. If last night's sickening ladder bump was anything to go by, we may be in for an all-out car crash on Sunday night.

But this wasn't simply a case of two men looking to immortalise themselves through calamitous spots as Breakker also laced in more terrific character beats in the form of giving Gargano the finger after being superkicked into next week with a ladder on his head. As you do.

In the end, however, there could be only one and Breakker's road to climbing back into title contention continued as he caught Johnny Wrestling on the way down with a powerslam before unhooking the briefcase for the advantage. Of course, this still being WWE, the brand couldn't resist unleashing both teams on each other for the bants afterwards. But that still took nothing away from arguably Breakker's best bout to date and an apt potential send-off for another star who once bled black and gold... and maybe will again, soon enough...
