4 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (May 27)

2. Dillinger And Crowe Are Better Than Jobbing

It was certainly a welcome surprise to see Solomon Crowe wrestle in the main event against the champion, considering that he was snubbed outright from the card at Unstoppable. Fans have yet to see enough of the mysterious hacker. He's barely been given promo time, and though his move-set pops the crowd when he's given time to use it, the fans just haven't been given any chance to get to know what he's all about. That didn't change last night. His reasons for fighting Owens were as shallow as they come (essentially "I don't think you're very nice") and though he got one or two comeback spots, he was pretty soundly dominated by the NXT champion. Likewise, Tye Dillinger (complete with new sci-fi haircut) looked as though he was going to put in a good showing against Finn Balor, showing nice aggression, but he was ultimately squashed. The lack of top talent for Balor and Owens to face right now is a problem, but Dillinger and Crowe are better than serving as enhancement talent. They may be jobbers to the stars, but it's still less than what they're worth. What both men need is to engage in a developed feud with each other. Let the universe find out more about Solomon Crowe and Tye Dillinger. Let a storyline reveal or cultivate their characters, and suddenly the upper-midcard might not seem quite so bare.
