Let’s put aside the last 30 seconds of the United States Championship match for a few minutes…

AJ Styles and Kevin Owens had the best match of the PPV, putting together a pretty good bout that got more intense as the contest wore on. At the peak, you had AJ and KO teeing off on each other and trading some pretty big moves. It was looking like they were trying to at least remind fans that Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne weren’t the only ones capable of tearing down the house.

Sadly, the match never reached that level, and the countout finish certainly didn’t help matters. But for what we got from Styles and Owens, it was a decent match before the ending. Hopefully, it will lead to a future bout that blows this one away.
