On the one hand, having the Hardy Boyz competing in singles matches might make some worry that they’re moving away from an already-thin tag team division. But let’s face it: Matt and Jeff are both accomplished singles wrestlers, and either one of them is a credible contender for a secondary title like the Intercontinental Championship.

So Jeff winning the battle royal and earning a title shot against the Miz next week is a perfectly acceptable result, and it should produce a pretty good match if it’s given time to breathe. Hardy is a four-time former IC champ, and a former world champ as well, so his singles pedigree is really well-established.

And besides, there’s always the route WWE could go and have the Miztourage interfere and set up a tag match against the Hardys.
