4 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Backlash 2018

3. Another Inconclusive Title Match

Let’s get this straight: After a WWE Championship match ended in a double-countout and the challenger hit several low blows during promos, WWE booked a no-DQ match – and we got a double-countout?

Neither AJ Style or Shinsuke Nakamura could answer the referee’s 10-count after kicking each other low simultaneously, ruining what actually was a pretty decent match up to that point. The two men showed more fire and energy than they had in their WrestleMania match, and a rocking finish would have made it a worthwhile title bout.

Instead, we got a couple low blows and both men rolling around on the mat in agony (understandably). And fans got a BS ending to a no-DQ match where the stipulation seemed to serve only to allow those low blows and the brief introduction of a chair.

Lame.
