4 Ups And 9 Downs From WWE Elimination Chamber 2020

Ups

4. Some Philly Love

Street Profits red Cups

Being from outside Philadelphia, this writer loves when some local flavor is brought into a WWE show, and Tom Phillips made sure there were enough references to keep the locals happy.

Aside from Corey Graves’ obligatory comparison of Otis to Flyers mascot Gritty and references to ECW, Phillips (a Philly native) tossed out an Erin Express mention when Jerry Lawler asked what was in all the red Solo cups. (Erin Express is a big bar crawl throughout the city over St. Patrick’s Day weekend.) This followed the Street Profits urging everyone to “trust the process” (a mantra from the Sixers’ previous GM).

Phillips also name-dropped two popular Eagles during the Raw Tag Team Championship match: legend Brian Dawkins and current star Fletcher Cox. While this isn’t a huge deal, nor does it mean much to anyone else outside of Philly, we’ll be generous since this show was short on positives and give it a little love here.
