4 Ups And 9 Downs From WWE Elimination Chamber 2020

4. A Slow, Dull Battle

When you hear “AJ Styles versus Aleister Black,” you immediately envision a high-energy, hard-hitting match filled with strong strikes and some innovative offense.

But what we got Sunday night was 15 minutes of Styles kicking Black’s leg.

OK, that’s not entirely true, but a large portion of the match was AJ attacking Aleister’s left leg and the Dutch Destroyer spending a lot of time writhing on the mat. Styles used a kendo stick to pepper Black’s leg a bit too. Oh, Aleister got his shots in too, but if you were looking for something special, you would have been terribly disappointed.

Worse, we had to sit through 20 minutes before the expected finish of The OC interfering and Undertaker saving the day. If you didn’t see that coming in a no-DQ match, then you must have never watched WWE before.

Just a really disappointing match that should have been much more special than a backdrop to an AJ/UT feud.
