4 Ups And 9 Downs From WWE Elimination Chamber 2020

3. Strowman Keeps Getting Knocked Down

Remember when Braun Strowman was a can’t-miss monster, a guy who could be The Guy?

Yeah, those days are so far gone, that we’re half-expecting Nicholas to make a comeback, turn on his former tag team partner, and pin him clean in the center of the ring.

OK, that’s an exaggeration, but Strowman had his Intercontinental Championship run short-circuited Sunday night so Sami Zayn could win the title by pinning Braun fairly cleanly. While it was good to see Zayn finally win singles gold in WWE, it did Strowman no favors, making him look stupid for blindly accepting a 3-on-1 match, and then losing his IC title.

Of course, this is very likely setting up a WrestleMania match where Braun gets his hands on Sami for the title, which in WWE world necessitated a title switch just before the show to “build momentum,” or whatever.
