4 Ups And 9 Downs From WWE Raw (Aug 17)

7. Mickie’s ‘Big’ Return

After a year away from WWE due to injury, Mickie James made her return to action Monday night in what should have been a technical gem against Natalya.

And what did we get? Utter garbage. We got a 3-minute match during which the two women clearly weren’t on the same page, or were just going through the motions and didn’t care. The latter is more likely because Seth Rollins came out mid-match to argue with Samoa Joe about Rey Mysterio, and the show’s focus was almost entirely on that, not the contest.

Worse yet, Mickie lost after being distracted by Lana, knocked to the floor by Nattie and counted out. Yep, James lost her return bout via countout in a super-lame match where they didn’t even get entrances.

Just awful stuff. They might as well have put two NXT trainees from the “audience” in the ring to fill the time.
