4. The New Day Dawns In A Week
The buildup to the return of Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods has been done nicely, with each man getting a spotlight vignette in the past three weeks, only for all three to get a joint one this week where they plug their strengths and how they will help each other excel. Kofis the speed, Big E the power and Xavier the brains. Sounds like a pretty solid trio. The other part of it that was good was that this wasnt super drawn-out. The group returns/re-debuts next week, so it built up steadily rather than running two months of promos with no direction. The real question will be how they will be portrayed and treated. The vignettes have shown three black men singing and dancing in front of a gospel choir. Woods was originally pushing for them to stop doing what was expected of them and take what they wanted. So will they act similar to the way they did in the promos? Or will they shrug that stuff off as a façade and take on a more serious tone? This is one where fans should be cautious optimistic until proven otherwise.
