4 Ups And Downs From Last Night's WWE Smackdown (Feb 5)

1. Daniel Bryan Is A Winner That Apparently Has No Friends

The main event of the show saw Daniel Bryan wrestle Seth Rollins, Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble. The J&J Security guys wrestled in dress shirts and slacks because apparently they don't have ring gear anymore. That's how you live the gimmick. As expected in matches like this, the heels were in control for much of it. There were some coo spots in the match like when Rollins hit Bryan with some German Suplexes and told Bryan that's what it feels like to be against Brock Lesnar. Soon after that, Bryan made the comeback with a dive to take out Rollins on the floor as well as J&J Security in the ring. Bryan sent Rollins to the floor again and applied the STF on Mercury to win the match. It was a 14 minute match with the right guy going over. Bryan's in the main event of Fast Lane, so it makes sense that he would get some wins. After the match, Kane attacked Bryan because that's apparently the feud that will never end. When they went into the ring, Kane hit two Chokeslams on Bryan. Rollins finished it with a Curb Stomp on Bryan in the center of the ring. The question is why didn't anybody help Bryan? We saw Roman Reigns help him on Raw. Guys like Ambrose and Ryback have tried to save people from The Authority a number of times, but nobody came out here to save him. Why is that? Don't expect to get an explanation from WWE. It was just done that way to get fans to hate The Authority more and also to feel sorry for Bryan. Typical booking, really. It was an average Smackdown with Bryan and Reigns booked as the stars of the show while several other segments were definitely worth skipping.
