4 Ups And Downs From Last Night's WWE Smackdown (Mar 5)

1. Playing "Hot Potato" With IC Title Hurts More Than It Helps

It's nice that WWE is caring about the IC Title. It really is. However, the idea that people can just walk up to it, grab it and walk away is not helping the product at all. If anything, it reminds us that we're watching some kids television show, which WWE is a lot of the time. What's the point of taking it? To upset Barrett? It's tiresome. It also doesn't help that Barrett loses nearly every match he's had as IC Champion. He may be one of the worst IC Champions at this rate so whoever wins the title from him is beating a loser. Ziggler was out there at the start of the show with the IC Title around his waist talking about winning it last year meant so much to him. Why? The guy had it in 2010. He's been a World Champion. He should have bigger goals. Getting back to the point, having different people carry around the IC Title means nothing. Barrett's the champ. The others taking the title mean nothing. It's just a way to fill time because people in other WrestleMania matches aren't on this show. What would be better is if Barrett looked like a credible champion instead of a loser and then everybody challenging him would mean a lot more.
