4 Ups And Downs From Last Night's WWE Smackdown (Mar 5)

1. Tag Team Main Event Was Entertaining

The main event of Smackdown saw Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose take on Luke Harper and Bad News Barrett. It seems like most weeks on Smackdown they have a tag match in the main event. Teddy Long must be proud. Last week it was a six man tag for the faces on the winning side and this week just a regular tag with the faces winning again. The match went about ten minutes with the heels working on Ambrose for much of it as they isolated him from Ziggler. When Ziggler got the hot tag, things broke down with Ambrose battling Barrett outside the ring while Ziggler nailed a Superkick and then the Zig Zag on Harper for the win. At least Barrett didn't get pinned like he usually does. It was after the match when they did the "hot potato" thing with the title. There have been times when Smackdown main events got more time than the ten minutes these guys got, but on a show with seven matches that's all that was left for them. Plus, creative seemed to want to put the focus on whoever had possession of the IC Title even though that really doesn't matter. Smackdown needs to keep on putting entertaining main event matches like this one and they could use a few other good matches on the show too. That's how they can build up this show as something worthwhile.
