4 Ups And Downs From WWE Survivor Series 2014

3. Setting The Table

The moment the match was announced, it was pretty obvious that Dean Ambrose versus Bray Wyatt wasn€™t going to be a one-off match, blown off at Survivor Series. Rather, fans had to expect some kind of shenanigans or screwy finish to end the match and set up a rematch. Not only did they do that, the match perfectly set up the kind of match (a TLC match) €“ and then WWE booked and announced it the same night. When was the last time the company announced a rematch for the following PPV while the current event still was going on? The Ambrose-Wyatt match itself was going well until the DQ finish. It was a breath of fresh air in terms of spots, with both guys showing off how they are different than a lot of the other wrestlers on the roster. The action was pretty much nonstop, with no restholds, and the crowd responded accordingly. So while it was disappointing that a good match was cut short and ended up being a setup for a future match, it was refreshing to see the DQ directly setting up the next bout and even setting the stipulations right away.
