From the second he debuted with WWE in 2002, John Cena has been pushed down the throat of the pro wrestling audience. 40. The Prototype
If you are of a certain age, you'll remember hearing a buzz in the early 2000's about two rookies WWE had in developmental. One of those men was Brock Lesnar, and the other guy was "The Prototype." It sounded ridiculous, and quite frankly, he looked ridiculous. The Prototype was a muscle stacked wrestler, with the story that he was part machine. We now know The Prototype better as John Cena, and that early gimmick was the very first time we said "what the f***" about his character. Everyone wrote him off. Nobody believed a guy called The Prototype would ever make it as the biggest star in the business. Well, fifteen years later, the half-human half-machine has done very well for himself!
