John Cena debuted on WWE's main roster on the June 27 2002 Smackdown, in a match against Kurt Angle. It was a dream first gig for a rookie, but it was also embarrassingly obvious that he was in way over his head. Everything from his tight red generic shorts, to the over-enthused expression on his face, it left fans wondering how the hell this big slice of cheesiness was meant to be the future. His finely gelled fringe was also purely WTF. It was the overdone promo in which he said he had "ruthless aggression" which really made fans laugh. He looked like such a dork.
