5 Best And 5 Worst Reluctant WWE Tag Team Champions
1. Best 1. The Rock And Sock Connection
If you told anybody after the 1999 Royal Rumble and the brutal I Quit match between The Rock and Mankind that later in the year they’d be a successful tag team, they’d probably tell you to stop smoking those funny cigarettes. However, the blood enemies found themselves on the same side facing common enemies in The Big Show and The Undertaker. The night they formed, August 30, they defeated Show and Undertaker to win the Tag Team Titles, but they lost the belts a week later on Smackdown in a Buried Alive match. They won the belts back two more times on Raw, but ended up losing the belts on the very next Smackdown.
Even though the tag title reigns didn’t last very long, the segments involving the two were hilarious. Mankind would continuously steal The Rock’s catchphrases, and Rock would hilariously reprimand Mick for doing so. Of course, there was the “This is Your Life” segment that’s gotten so much praise for being the highest-rated segment in Raw history that it’s actually become a bit overrated, but it still was tremendous.
Considering the starpower of The Rock, and the fact that these two were beating the hell out of each other earlier in the year but came together to create some great moments, The Rock N Sock Connection takes the number 1 spot on the list.
