5 Best Finishers In WWE Today (And 5 Worst)
3. Worst - Superkick
Few moves have suffered from over exposure to the degree that the Superkick has in recent years. Seen on nearly every wrestling card from the smallest independents to the grandest stages, the move has become almost as common as a lock up. That's not to take anything away from the move itself. It still pops a crowd and takes an impressive level of skill to pull off.
Due to its frequency, It now takes an incredible talent or character to truly make it their own. Unfortunately, Dolph Ziggler is not in that category.
Despite being an undeniably gifted performer, Ziggler has suffered from poor booking and lack of character cohesion to the point that he has been in freefall for the last couple of years. It remains to be seen if his current heel run will lead to greater things. His recent use of the Superkick has been seen as the epitome of his struggles to create a unique persona.
It's hard to believe that being compared to Shawn Michaels would ever be a bad thing but Ziggler crossed the line between minor similarities in technique to full on copy and pasting huge elements of a performer's moveset when he began tuning up the band before his rendition.
There is potential with Dolph's version of the move. It boils down to his ability to differentiate himself from those who came before.
