Omitting such a popular move from a list like this would be like asking for a hate mob full of hardcore and casual fans to descend upon your house armed with pitchforks and flaming torches. That elusive cross over appeal between audiences is rare in the modern era and the RKO has taken on a life of its own with countless memes and references across the internet.

Even before the 'Outta nowhere' trend took off, the RKO was still widely considered one of, if not the best finisher in WWE. Randy Orton has endured his fair share of ups and downs in the company but the RKO has always helped facilitate a strong relationship with audiences.

A variation on the Cutter, a move popularized by John Laurinaitis during his time in Japan, the RKO is at its best when it surprises audiences and opponents equally. Though Orton adopted a way to signal the move in the late noughties by pounding his fists on the mat, it was the later focus on innovative counters and sudden impact that helped cement the move as one of the best finishers in WWE history.

Everyone reading this will have their favourite RKO moment in their head and that kind of legacy (excuse the pun) is incredibly hard to establish and maintain.
