5 Best Interviews In Power Slam Magazine History

5. Hulk Hogan - Issue 2 (1994)

One of the most important interviews in Power Slam history came in 1994 for the second issue, when Fin got to speak to WCW€™s new World Champion, Hulk Hogan. Martin noted that Hogan was €œquite forthcoming and he was as honest with me as I think he could€™ve been at the time€.

Coming off the back of his critically panned WWF run in 1993, The Hulkster admitted in the interview that his heart wasn€™t in it when he came back for the brief run with Titan Sports in 93. This was the first and only time where Hogan seemed to truthfully open up about that run and why he felt it didn€™t work.

In stark contrast to 2015, Fin noted €œwhen Hogan answered a question, he came across like a genuine guy. I never got the sense that he was trying to work me, or if he did, I never noticed€. Today€™s interviews with the legend might include a dash of truth but are mostly fiction, whereas in this fascinating chat back in 94, Hulk seemed unguarded when it came to talking about his career and had sense of enthusiasm about his run in WCW and wanting to help make the company a success.
