5 Best Opponents For Sting's Retirement Match At WWE WrestleMania 32
Who should The Stinger face in his final bout?
After this past Monday's weird video package on the main event of last years Survivor Series, which erased Sting from the equation, as well as Bryan Alvarez noting something must have happened for WWE to take this approach, it got me to thinking about how useful it would be to have Sting on the card at WrestleMania 32 in Dallas.
For the last five months I worked on promoting, producing, hosting and managing a UK Q&A tour with Sting and I can tell you firsthand that the man behind the face paint is one of the nicest guys youll ever meet. He understands the wrestling business and isn't at all selfish, having put over Magnus on the way out of TNA because, in his words, I dont know why youd do anything else.
The fans who attended these Q&A shows were so passionate about Sting, and it's clear that hes a hero to a certain generation. More importantly, he's incredibly marketable.
When WWEs financials came out last week, the pay per-view buyrate for Night of Champions was noticeably higher than the previous year. Fans bought that show to see Sting in action. Its in WWEs best interest to present him well so people will want to buy his shirts, DVDs and action figures.
Whatever WWEs reason is for seemingly erasing The Stinger from history, they should get over it as theres money to be made with a final Sting match in Texas. He deserves to go out on a high since he made a career of doing the right thing. In Dallas he should be celebrated.
Here are five opponents I could see him up against at AT&T Stadium.
