5 Biggest Missed Opportunities From WWE Super ShowDown 2020

2. Not Giving Ricochet A Chance

Look, after the events of the Royal Rumble, we all knew Brock Lesnar was destined to walk into WrestleMania with the WWE Championship, and in order for that to happen he had to emphatically beat Ricochet at Super ShowDown. Yes, that much was certain. But did it really have to go down in such an anticlimactic way?

Instead of recycling the Lesnar vs. smaller high-flyer format we've seen work in the past during 'The Beast's bouts with Seth Rollins or Daniel Bryan, they just fed Ricochet to him in a 90-second mauling, robbing the audience of a match that could have really delivered and, more importantly, destroying Ricochet's last remaining shreds of momentum.

The fact that they went to the effort to utilise Ricochet's lack of chances in the buildup to the match made it same as if they were setting up some sort of underdog story for him - something that, in spite of his eventual defeat, would have allowed him to walk away from this match with a newfound credibility. This would have given WWE the chance to make Lesnar look credible in victory while also giving their resident superhero something to work with heading into WrestleMania.

Unfortunately, after Super ShowDown, his credibility is in tatters.
