5 Biggest Missed Opportunities From WWE Super ShowDown 2020
1. Obliterating The Fiend's Momentum Instead Of Furthering It
This writer's not going to sit here and tell you that he didn't shed a nostalgic tear as Goldberg delivered one of his better performances and triumphed to win the Universal Championship for a second time, but moments after that jaw-dropping victory, reality set in. And it hit hard.
'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt's reign of terror over WWE is the exact kind of momentum that the company should be capitalizing on heading into WrestleMania, setting him up as a potentially unbeatable threat to whoever dared challenge him for the title on the Grandest Stage of Them All. But that's not going to happen now because, no matter how strong he looked in defeat, the fact of the matter is that he's not unbeatable - Goldberg proved that and with that loss died a little bit of Wyatt's lustre.
Even if 'The Fiend' reclaims the gold before 'Mania, the damage has been done now, because the fact of the matter is that he could have used a win over an icon like Goldberg to his advantage, proving how unstoppable he is. But yet again, WWE priotised short-term gain over long-term storytelling, sacrificing the character that Bray Wyatt painstakingly built to do so.
