5 Biggest Missed Opportunities From WWE The Horror Show At Extreme Rules
1. Too Much Swamp, Not Enough Fight
It was hard not to get Boneyard Match vibes in the opening moments of the Wyatt Swamp Fight. Perhaps WWE's greatest achievement thus far in the cinematic match era, the WrestleMania offering allowed The Undertaker and AJ Styles to decisively end their feud in an appropriate environment and an immersive offering. And it looked like we were about to get the same from Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman in this one.
Unfortunately, the opening moments are where those similarities ended.
From the long-winded speeches from Bray Wyatt to the random strangers that assaulted Braun to the complete lack of actual swamp fighting, the whole thing felt like it was just wasting time, starting and stopping multiple times along the way just because it could.
Sure, it hit its stride in the closing moments as they actually tussled in the swamp, but almost everything leading up to that felt like smoke and mirrors employed to delay the fighting.
It wasn't bad by any means, but it certainly wasn't as great as it could have been.
