5 Biggest Missed Opportunities From WWE The Horror Show At Extreme Rules

2. A Night Of Dreadful Endings

If there was one thing that tied much of the eclectic Horror Show at Extreme Rules' matches together, it was the terrible endings that befell many of them.

We've already discussed how poor the ending to the otherwise decent Rollins vs. Mysterio match was and, even though that one says more about the stipulation, it was still a tasteless finish. The first of multiple, it set the tone for the evening as some of the subsequent battles would follow suit and produce endings that ranged from poor to bloody awful.

Asuka and Sasha Banks had put on a barn-burner of a match when all that effort was wasted in an overbooked ending that saw Bayley rip the injured referee's shirt off and count the pin for her buddy. Not only does this defy logic because the actual ref didn't sign off on this and any authority figure could have easily overturned it, it undermined what was undoubtedly the match of the night.

Following that, the Swamp Fight between Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt (which we'll get to in more detail shortly) finished with one of the most confusing endings in recent WWE history, leaving the whole WWE Universe baffled as to which of the superstars actually won the match.

None of these finishes were executed well and, regardless of how good or bad the preceding matches were, the superstars involved in them deserved better than what they ultimately got.
