5 Biggest Missed Opportunities From WWE WrestleMania 36

4. Not Cutting Out The Filler

On a weekend full of unpredictability, the one thing that was so plainly obvious about WrestleMania 36 before it even began was the fact that it would be bogged down with a little too much filler. While the event handled it pretty well, it wasn't fully able to overcome it

On a card full of championship bouts and grudge matches, we also had meaningless and uninteresting battles between Elias and King Corbin and Aleister Black and Bobby Lashley - neither of which really produced enough exciting action to warrant taking place on the Grandest Stage of Them All - while matches that felt like they could have shined stuck to the safe space of predictable disappointments.

In terms of nights, the Saturday show flowed much better, priorisiting the more important matches (Corbin/Elias aside), but that unfortunately left the Sunday show with Black/Lashley, Otis/Ziggler, a tag team match with little build and a thrown-together Fatal 5-Way match that, while decent, just dragged on too long.

Less really is more, and had WrestleMania cut down on some of these nonentities (or at least stuck one of the singles bouts on the kick-off show), the Sunday show wouldn't have decimated all of the event's momentum after its solid opening night.
