'Officially': Yes.

Unofficially: Yes - for a bit.

As far as anyone outside of WWE's corridors of power know, Lesnar's contract is set to expire in August - immediately after SummerSlam. Obviously, this fits rather snugly with the champ high-tailing it out of the company immediately afterwards for a fresh challenge in UFC.

WWE would like us to believe it's as simple as that, and will do their best to write Brock's transgressions into their fiction as they nudge him out the door on-screen.

In reality, Brock's exit is likely to be more akin to an extended sabbatical - one beneficial to all parties involved. An excursion to UFC and a high-profile fight - and, as WWE will hope, win - against Daniel Cormier will re-energise Lesnar's fading aura, whilst the Universal Title scene will have a chance at rehabilitation in his absence.

Had the company not evidently been tacitly encouraging Lesnar's crossover, we'd say this was the end. But they are, so instead, this is the end - for now.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
