4. Loser: Dana Brooke

Bayley vs. Dana Brooke has reached Titus O’Neil vs. Darren Young levels of woe. Nothing about the feud has gone over, and from Dana’s botches to last week’s dire arm wrestling contest, it has been miss after miss after miss. The duo have struggled immensely in putting a compelling program together, and they had the PPV’s worst match last night.

Bayley’s entrance aside, the crowd were dead throughout. The former NXT Women’s Champion is a good wrestler, but Brooke is far too incomplete a performer to drag a good match from. They worked a sloppy six-minuter marred by some wholly unconvincing limb work, and Brooke inevitably fell to the Bayley-to-Belly.

The loss puts Dana in an incredibly tough spot. She was put into a feud with one of the division’s best workers, yet still couldn’t put forth a convincing performance. If she can’t succeed with Bayley, then there’s little chance she’ll succeed with an Alicia Fox or Nia Jax, who would be her next logical opponents after falling down the ladder. Dana’s fine in her role as Charlotte’s sidekick, but she’s just not ready to strike out on her own, and would likely benefit from another stint in NXT.
