2. Winners: Charlotte & Dana Brooke

Very little makes sense about the Dana Brooke/Charlotte relationship at this point. Charlotte is regularly overbearing and borderline abusive to her apparent protege, and for the most part, Dana is willing to put-up with it. Last week was the exception, with Dana slapping Charlotte across the face to secure her spot in the three-way number one contender’s match, but things were back to normal last night, and Dana and Charlotte are firmly on the same page.

Their story development is perplexing, and while it looks like WWE are setting Dana up for a big face turn against the hated Women’s Champion, they’re so up-and-down that it’s hard to keep track of it all. Still, last night was big for them. They teamed-up to comfortably defeat their rivals Sasha Banks and Bayley in tag team action, and while Dana finds herself omitted from Sunday’s title match, the dastardly duo are strongly positioned at the top of the division.

Charlotte looks very much like the division’s star at this point. Banks is more popular and a more refined pro-wrestler, but Charlotte is one of the most effective heels in WWE today, and that’s more than you can say for The Boss’ babyface character. She has her flaws, but Charlotte is steadily improving as a WWE competitor, and can be a strong anchor for the company’s “Women’s Evolution” for years to come.
