Nikki Bella was installed as SmackDown’s female captain at Survivor Series last week, but she didn’t look like a leader last night. She and Becky Lynch teamed-up against Carmella and Alexa Bliss, two women they’ll share a Survivor Series team with, and they were defeated through superior teamwork mixed with some good old-fashioned cheating.

Becky took the decisive pinfall, and it represents another loss in her ongoing war with Alexa. The two are set to collide for the SmackDown Women’s championship in Glasgow next week, and after two weeks on the backfoot, the odds are stacked against the current champ. Captain and champion couldn’t overcome a pair of women who’ve done nothing but plague them lately, and it’s a huge hit not only to their pride, but also their momentum.

The Survivor Series team has some major problems at the moment. Most of the participants hate one another, and while Raw’s team isn’t exactly full of budding friendships either, it’s hard to imagine how SD’s five are going to coexist. They have some big hurdles to overcome, and as captain, the onus is on Nikki to deal with them.
