5 Brother Vs Brother Wrestling Matches That Ruled (And 5 That Sucked)

3. Edge Vs. Christian - Cage Match For WWF IC Title (Rebellion 2001)

The WWF had high hopes for Edge as a singles star. Deciding that the incredibly popular Edge and Christian team had run its course in the summer of 2001, the WWE split the team and have the (storyline) brothers feud. WWF fans had high hopes for the feud, given Edge and Christian's history with one another and their obvious in-ring talent. Edge and Christian were seen as guys who could have decent matches with anybody so, by putting the two together, they were obviously going to routinely put on **** clinics every night, right? Well, not exactly. Their first match at Unforgiven was solid, but unspectacular. This was understandable. After all, it was their first big singles match together. They needed time to find their groove. Their ladder match at No Mercy the following month was better, but once again it didn't quite reach the heights (pardon the pun) expected of E & C. The two finally got it right at the UK-only PPV Rebellion two weeks later in a cage match. Whether it was the hot crowd or the fact that it was the first match on the show, they just seemed more on their game that night and produced a very fun, energetic opener. The finish, which was Edge tying Christian's shoelaces together causing him to hang from the cage upside down, was pure genius.
