5 Highlights From NJPW Dominion 6.11 In Osaka-Jo Hall
4. The Junior Ace
Kushida's Best of the Super Juniors win booked him a date with IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi. Though this was one of many Wrestle Kingdom rematches we saw tonight, they brought a wholly different style to their Dominion clash.
Kushida and Hiromu forsook their technical prowess to bring out the vicious side in one another. Exchanging strikes from the opening bell, neither competitor let up for a second. Kushida drove Hiromu into the audience with a hellacious dropkick over the barricade. When Hiro wouldn't stay down, Kushida buried his foot into Hiro's face. Forearms became closed fists. This could be NJPW's most ferocious rivalry, not least because both men become completely unhinged when they're up against each other.
Kushida's armbar closed out what could have been the first of two five-star clashes at Dominion. Though plenty of LIJ fans' heads dropped with Hiromu's loss, BUSHI entered himself back into the title picture post-match.
However, this was still Kushida's night. The image of him standing atop the turnbuckle, BOSJ trophy in one hand, ROH TV and IWGP Jr. Titles in the other, leaves little doubt: Kushida is now the most decorated Jr. wrestler on the planet.
