WWE: 5 Possibilities For Stone Cold Steve Austin At Wrestlemania 30

5. To Compete In The Andre The Giant Battle Royal

Andre The Giant Memorial

When Hulk Hogan announced the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, many people believed that the Creative department deserved a pat on the back. Far too often, many names in the midcard are left off the PPV because Creative has nothing for them to do, and this was an easy way of giving thirty superstars their chance at a Wrestlemania moment. We don't yet know what kind of prestige winning the Battle Royal will bestow, but they've certainly hyped it up to be a big deal in the weeks leading up to it. However, at present, only 27 wrestlers have been confirmed to be competing in the match. Could Austin be number 28? In the Attitude Era, some of Austin's best work has been in the Royal Rumble match. To date, he is the only man in history to win it three times. With 29 other men in the match, the ATGBR has a similar feel to the Royal Rumble, so it's possible that he could make an appearance in it. All it would take is to hear the familiar sound of glass shattering, and the audience in New Orleans would lose their minds, as the Texas Rattlesnake came down the ramp, into the ring and started Stunning "anything that by God moves!" Would we like to see it? I'm not sure. It'd be a fun little cameo for him and the audience, I can't deny that. But this match has been built to show off the midcard wrestlers and give them a chance to shine. For the past three years now, a former star from years gone by has main evented Wrestlemania, denying the younger guys their spot, and it would be a shame if the midcard guys would also be overshadowed by a part timer, even if that part timer was Austin. Plus, Stone Cold has done a good job of not being involved with the WWE for years. I can't help but feel that they brought him back for something bigger than this.
