5 Key Focus Areas For AEW Dynamite Year 3
1. Introducing Additional Tag Team Titles
As it stands,
there are more than 20 tag teams and groups on the active roster, from
ever-present entities like The Elite and the Dark Order through to those that
pop up once in a blue moon like Chaos Project or Bear Country. Each of these
are contesting for just a singular set of tag titles, and although there have
been countless storylines involving groups squaring off without these being
involved (such as the Inner Circle and Pinnacle war), it does create an
environment of slim pickings for those not involved in a feud with the
champions.
Introducing a second set of tag titles to fight over would lift a number of these out of the permanent holding pattern in which they seem to be stuck in. These could take the form of a ‘secondary’ set of titles for midcard teams, akin to the TNT Championship, or, more interestingly, a three-man title.
Trios wrestling is huge in Mexico, but has never really had much of a presence within the United States. Fast-paced and frantic, it’d certainly be a great complement to the ‘purist’ tag team wrestling demonstrated by the likes of FTR.
Given the Young Bucks recent Twitter bio change, it seems like it may be a reality instead of a wish sooner rather than later, though given their recent long tenure with the current belts, one hopes that they and Adam Cole don’t become the inaugural holders, giving someone like Jurassic Express a run instead.
