5 Least Threatening WWE Entrance Themes

4. Red Rooster - "The Rooster"

Sporting an awful red mohawk and wacky strut, Terry Taylor’s Red Rooster gimmick was a tough sell, even in the cartoonish landscape of late eighties WWE. After leaving The Heenan Family and turning face, Taylor was reduced to the life of an enhancement talent, in what felt like a sad end for a talented worker of his stature and ability.

Adopting a character like the Red Rooster stacked the deck against Taylor, but that was merely the start of his troubles. “The Rooster”, his synth and swoosh-heavy entrance theme, sabotaged any lingering hope of Taylor enjoying a successful run before jumping ship to WCW in June 1990.

Opening with the predictable cry of a rooster hailing the dawn, Terry Taylor’s Red Rooster theme is the perfect accompaniment for a round of SimCity. It’s a bumper crop of cheesy hooks that’ll bring all the boys to the farm. Wrestling fans? Not so much. The only question is how much to tax your beloved citizens, brother. No 50/50 booking in my town!
