Despite being an inexperienced fighter with a 2-1 professional record at the time, due to his tremendous popularity and marketability, Lesnar was given a title shot against the legendary Randy Couture. While the WWE star may not have earned the opportunity, he did make the most of it.

At UFC 91, Lesnar would end up getting a TKO victory over Couture — a former 2-division champion who is widely considered one of the sport's all-time greats. In doing so, he became the undisputed UFC Heavyweight Champion of the world.

Following the victory, Lesnar was no longer viewed as a simply a novelty act who could sell pay-per-views; he was now seen as a legitimate mixed martial artist.

Moreover, becoming a champion ensured that Brock Lesnar would always have a place in MMA history.
