What is it about the former NXT ultra-faces being such detestable heels on buses?

By the time Enzo Amore was released by WWE in January 2018, it was the rather toxic atmosphere around his private life that stole headlines around his exit. In the marginally less salacious world of Sports Entertainment, he'd already sabotaged relations with most of his colleagues after believing in himself so robustly that it alienated virtually everybody he worked with.

Enzo's marathon-running mouth was no gimmick - the former Full Sail firecracker was every bit the 'Smacktalker Skywalker' backstage, leading eventually to locker room leader Roman Reigns losing his patience entirely on a long bus ride. Enzo wasn't permitted to change with the other wrestlers when they finally reached their destination.

The Wrestling Observer reported the incident had occurred during the spring 2017 European Tour, with Enzo's arrogance forcing 'The Big Dog' to assume his new steward role in emphatic style. It wasn't long after this that his unit with Big Cass was permanently parked and on-screen bullying of his character began in ernest.

Enzo somehow made it all work. A night after he'd escaped a shark cage in his boxer shorts, he was unexpectedly winning the payoff match with his seven-foot former friend before being inserted into the flagging Cruiserweight division as a banter champion. Though Roman was the chosen one to boot him from a bus, only real life interventions had the power to derail his self-hype train.
