2. Matilda The Dog Has Bowel Problems On Live TV

When The British Bulldogs were riding high as a top babyface tag-team in the WWF of the late-1980's, it wasn't uncommon to see them accompanied by a canine friend. Known as 'Matilda', the dog became a favourite with children, and a mascot to the wrestling tandem. For Owen Hart, the unfortunate mutt was just another chance to play a prank on his friends. Both Davey Boy Smith and The Dynamite Kid reportedly disliked having to trail Matilda around whilst out on the road. Taking turns looking after her, the team had no choice but to put up with the mascot, because WWF officials felt it was a great idea. Around the same time, Koko B. Ware carried around a pet bird called 'Frankie', so it seems management felt animals were ideal valets for their performers. One evening backstage, Owen and Jake 'The Snake' Roberts elected to put laxatives in Matilda's food before she went out to ringside. Obviously, this gave the dog explosive bowel movements, the worst of which were experienced later in the hotel room of The Bulldogs. Jake had heat with Dynamite, but Owen egged him on to perform the prank. Ruining their night completely, Hart had struck again, and both Davey Boy and Dynamite were forced to put up with a lot of dog mess. The dog was unharmed, but just produced quite the amount of feces!
