5 Most Insane Things Happening In Wrestling Right Now (April 27)

1. Contract Killer

Brock Lesnar Papa Shango

No wonder Brock Lesnar spends so much time absolutely p*ssing himself laughing whenever he can actually be bothered to turn up on Monday Night Raw - he's seen his payslip.

Following the surprising conclusion to his WrestleMania Universal Title clash with Roman Reigns, audiences waited earnestly to see what figure had convinced Lesnar to continue phoning in his efforts atop the biggest wrestling company in the entire world - because there's absolutely no b*stard way he was doing it for the love of the game. Nor 'The Game', for that matter - his 2012-13 feud with Triple H halved his value.

Dirty Sheets were first to break the news - Brock stood to bank $500,000 per pay-per-view appearance, and a mere $100,000 to jig about a bit behind Paul Heyman on Raw. They are obnoxiously high figures not seen since Hulk Hogan turned WCW into his personal playground in the 1990s, but at least 'The Hulkster' delivered the organisation's biggest ever buyrate on his first night in. Lesnar only delivers good matches about once a year, and with that now costing the sum total of 50,000 Network subscribers' monthly fees, his worth hasn't ever been further away from his wage.

All the more surprising his recent backstage skirmish with Shane and Vince McMahon was apparently a work. The Chairman probably hoped his 'Boy Wonder' would throw hands and send 'The Beast' to hospital just to save him a small fortune.
