5 Most Insane Things Happening In Wrestling Right Now (Dec 1)

2. FloSlammed

FloSlam

FloSlam, the aggregated independent wrestling streaming service that once carried the output of the WWN, is dead. Details of the death, as stunningly revealed by Fightful's David Bixenspan, are absolutely crackers.

FloSlam leveraged the popularity of the service almost entirely on the World Wrestling Network, which is akin to Spotify banking everything on Cannibal Corpse. FloSlam have alleged in their ongoing lawsuit mendacity on the part of EVOLVE's Gabe Sapolsky, the PPV buys offered by whom were "intentionally misleading" - but even so, FloSlam were as daft as a Ryback podcast appearance to think that WWN were ever capable of recouping the combined $3.14 million due to be paid over the course of the five year deal. EVOLVE's relationship with WWE may yet account for the questioned spike, but prior to the inking of the deal, FloSlam knew exactly what they were getting themselves into - and got themselves into it because they had no grasp of WWN's limited reach.

Sapolsky should just inform FloSlam in court that he embellished the numbers for "entertainment purposes"; that, literally, is how Vince McMahon gets away with inflating attendance numbers to his shareholders.

Facetiousness aside, it's a shame; if the stupid storytelling weaved by WWE creative this week proved anything, it's that the company is in dire need of genuine competition.

Thank f*ck, then, for Cody Rhodes - and what a sentence that would have read as just 18 months ago...
