3. Bayley Finds Her Backbone

Finally.

After months and months of stalling and continuity gaps, and over a year suffering the perks-free life of a wallflower, Bayley turned heel (possibly) on Sasha Banks on this week's RAW. In doing so, she answered a question that has simmered for some time: was Bayley a one hit wonder, or drastically misused by main roster creative? Somehow this wasn't rhetorical - but it was on Monday. Bayley conveyed this real-life pent-up frustration gloriously by thrashing Sasha in an authentic beat-down, striking her with unrestrained blows, sending her hurtling into the ring steps, and pie-facing her with an emphatic "You ain't sh*t!"

Was this a heel turn? Both Corey Graves and Jonathan Coachman were enthused and not disgusted at this development, but the latter is a mystery unto himself and cannot be taken seriously. The crowd erupted with "Bayley!" chants. Who knows? Certainly not the Creative team.

Kurt Angle didn't immediately instruct Bayley and Sasha to have a match "...right now!" He did the very opposite task outlined in his job remit and sent Bayley and Sasha off for counselling.

Angle is far from the only WWE performer doing the exact opposite expected of him. Roman Reigns is the top babyface everybody hates. Brock Lesnar is the reigning, defending Universal Champion who doesn't defend his Universal Championship. The Revival set out to revive tag team wrestling, but, DOA, require resuscitation themselves. Finn Bálor poses a demonic dark side he does well to suppress by smiling inanely.

It's all gone completely backwards.
