Living his gimmick and his best life, Triple H was recently put in the unenviable position of fending off numerous ethical dilemmas surrounding the Greatest Royal Rumble without somehow villainously screaming about the mountains and mountains of cash his company were likely to trouser from it.

Hunter's got a defter touch with the media than his Father-In-Law in the modern age, attuned to pulse of the general public as well as his wrestling audience on NXT. It's perhaps why he probably pulled a few strings to install Mauro Ranallo as the new voice of NXT after veteran backstage botherer John 'Bradshaw' Layfield zoned in on the mentally fragile motormouth during their time together on SmackDown Live!

Remember that? Of course not - Layfield was quietly afforded a dignified departure whilst Mauro's silence was allegedly bought along with him brought back to cover a product he blatantly adores in a relatively pressure-free environment.

The company were lambasted for their treatment of Ranallo and the situation, but very much only within the bubble of the industry. Wrestling's escape hatch from minor scandal is itself - the press aren't looking half the time so WWE have little impetus to find a hiding place. And when they do, it's in plain sight.

Metallica fan and real-life master of puppets Triple H was quick to tweet praise and support for Mauro's bravery, despite absolutely nothing of the sort being found during one of 2017's ugliest episodes. That these issues were to be explored in a major Showtime documentary on the broadcaster was surely just a coincidence, right? HHHardly. There's still only one 'Game', and he's still "That Damn Good".
