5 Most Insane Things Happening In Wrestling Right Now (Sept 7)

4. The D*ck Parade

ALL IN provided us with a moment of wonder on Saturday night. Several, in fact, but one was legitimately insane.

After the brutal war between Hangman Page (who emerged from the show a bonafide superstar) and Joey Janela, Joey Ryan rose from the grave to avenge his murder on Being The Elite. He did so flanked by "druids" wearing inflatable phalluses.

The satire was so pointed in its brilliance; this was no less preposterous than the sight of druids flanking the Undertaker on WWE shows. What's dafter: this, or an undead mortician coming back from the dead? Moreover, the men in those costumes looked less like c*cks than the modern WWE roster does when they have to stand by the entrance for Stephanie McMahon's masturbatory first time ever! announcements. It was a glorious celebration of Joey's character and the transgressive, no-limits freedom of the Independent circuit. It was also closer to pro wrestling storytelling than it appeared at its lubricated tip.

To provide context for those who couldn't reconcile the angle: this was the culmination of a genuinely hilarious long-term storyline in which Hangman Page murdered Joey Ryan. Drawing together comedy and mystery, ultimately, a heel performed a despicable act, and the babyface took their vengeance upon them.

Absolutely nothing on this week's RAW made as much sense as this.
